ELECTRIC CLIPPER 200

The Electric Clipper 200 barquentine — A ship designed for a long and productive life

The EC 200 is an evolution of Go Sail Cargo’s EC 180 schooner, designed in 2021 at the suggestion of marine consultant Sven De Wachter. The boat was already overdue for a comprehensive upgrade and a client’s requirement to ship 1,000 tonnes of bulk grain plus passengers prompted a complete redesign. Such is the pace of technological development, notably in battery systems, that the ship is now a superior business proposition. Cargo, crew and discerning passengers can be carried safely, comfortably and profitably. The ability to do so independently of volatile, polluting fossil fuels is essential in a demonstrably unstable climate.

The Ship’s inbuilt versatility enables not only bulk grains but containers, pallets and mixed cargoes to be carried. The Electric Clipper, developed for series production with easily upgradeable systems, is fully integrated into existing logistical systems. Compact enough to be able to service the world’s smaller ports and wharves but spacious enough to efficiently forward commercially viable cargoes.

Dramatically reduced fuel and maintenance expenditures with a fully optimised hull and rig is achieved without recourse to high-risk wing sails or radical hull forms. Sails can be quickly repaired or replaced under way and the rig, technically a Barquentine, will attract the attention of those manufacturers, producers, travellers and freight forwarders with an eye to the future. A fast, reliable and beautiful ship
— welcome in every port.
